Iboga is a naturally occurring psychoactive substance found in plants in the Apocynaceae family¹. Ibogaine is a pharmaceutical drug dervived from Iboga root that is available in parts of the UK and other countries where Iboga is legal and used to target addiction cravings and eliminate them.

Pure Iboga root is usually used by Shamans or and indigenous healers. They powder the dried root-bark of the Iboga shrub and ingest it.  Although this powder, like cinnamon, is the 100% natural and not the result of isolating any specific compound, it is classified as a schedule 1 substance in the United States.
